Whether you're a sushi lover or a fan of hibachi, Shogun promises an adventure for your palate.
The menu is a treasure trove of delights. Start with their Gyoza, perfectly fried pork dumplings priced at just $4.95, or dig into the warm Edamame, an ideal appetizer at $3.95. For something a bit more adventurous, their Sashimi Appetizer featuring 8 pieces for $7.95 offers a taste of ocean-fresh fish that will leave you wanting more. Customers consistently rave about their sushi rolls, particularly the Hot Lady Roll and the Spicy Yellowtail Roll, hailed by Lauren H. as some of the best she has ever had.
The ambiance is a balanced mix of elegance and comfort, making it a great spot for a quick dinner or a romantic evening out. Patrons appreciate the friendly service, though experiences can sometimes vary. As shared by Khaum L., the attentive service and delicious white tuna togarashi made for a memorable anniversary dinner. Even in the quieter hours, meals are served promptly, allowing diners to enjoy their food without a long wait.
While the food shines bright, some have noted that the overall presentation of staff could be improved, with mentions of stained uniforms, impacting first impressions. However, the consistently good food seems to overshadow this concern for most diners. The hibachi section remains popular for its theatrical cooking, where chefs skillfully prepare meals right at your table.
In conclusion, Shogun Sushi And Hibachi delivers a delightful culinary experience that keeps locals returning. The flavors are authentic, the prices are reasonable, and the service can be genuinely warm, making it a must-visit for anyone in or around the Onalaska area. Whether you're looking for quick sushi to-go or a lively hibachi show, Shogun has something to satisfy every craving.

I am pleasantly surprised by the quality of food and service provided. The sashimi appetizer, hot lady roll, and spicy yellowtail roll were all some of the best sushi I've ever had! Our server was very kind and friendly and we were in and out in about 30 minutes (what we like!). It's not too loud and truly is a nice space to dine in. If you are in the area and are looking for a nice, affordable dinner, this is the place to go.

Always love the food! Waiters are very pleasant. Unfortunately, the hostess are usually wearing stained and/or torn shirts, which doesn't make walking in very appealing.

Really delicious food! Service can be a hit or miss and I often wait a long time when I come here but the food is worth it! Can be pretty pricy though:( the ambiance is beautiful! Owner is quite rude tho

Food and service is always great. My husband and I spent our anniversary having dinner at Shogun and it was definitely an enjoyable evening. We went right at dinner time 4:30p.m. and were one of the 3 tables there. Our host seated us right away and our serverer greeted is and took our drink orders with no wait. We ordered two long Islands because that was our drink when we first hung out. We decided to go with the the white Tuna togarashi with sauce on the side and the love boat for two. Everything was fresh and savory. The white Tuna togarashi so far is the best app I've had there. The sauce is was amazing. Definitely get it on the side if you don't like sesame oil. I like it but my husband doesn't. We will definitely be returning customers because everything is always excellent.

Let's start off by saying it's hibachi in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Once you understand that you'll be fine. When you walk in you're surrounded by Japanese decor. Walking to the left takes you to the hibachi section. Walking to the right takes you to the general dining area and bar. Since I was alone I went to the dining area. I was greeted by a friendly bartender and told to sit wherever I wanted. My server was also friendly. I ordered a Long Island, harumaki, and steak and shrimp combination hibachi. Everything came out relatively fast. The steak was good but some pieces were fatty. Everything tasted relatively decent. I would recommend it, if you were in the area. Overall I'd give it a 6.6

As with any performance business or the like, much of the experience depends on two things. 1) Your guide, or in this case your chef. 2) The people you are with. If you go to a hibachi restaurant, you should be going there for the experience, the show, NOT just the food. If you want just the food, there are other restaurants for that. Now that being said, I had a pleasant experience (all things considered). There was a bit of a wait for a grill, but to be expected, they want to try and fill the grills, I get it, so no harm done. Our chef was fun, interactive and responsive. My meal (chicken and steak) was cooked perfectly, and tasty! Remember hibachi is as fun as you put into it!
